Moorland View is a lovely walk – or a three-minute drive – from the 275-acre estate of Bovey Castle, making it easy to enjoy spa days, activities or a special meal there, before returning to the privacy and calm of your own cottage.

Guests at Moorland View are welcome to book spa days at Bovey Castle’s five-star Elan Spa, where treatments range from hot-stone and aromatherapy massages to anti-ageing facials and relaxing his-and-hers experiences. The hotel’s gym is well equipped with Precor cardiovascular and strength machines. Advance booking is essential; spa day access is £30 per person, per day.

Set within the light-filled Orangery, Bovey Castle’s indoor Art Deco swimming pool looks out across the estate and Dartmoor National Park. There’s a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, with outdoor loungers available for sunbathing in summer. Lockers and towels are provided in the changing rooms.

Golfers can book tee times on Bovey Castle’s highly regarded 18-hole championship course, designed in 1926 by J. F. Abercromby. With a clubhouse, driving range and golf academy, it’s a rewarding course for experienced players. Green fees are £75 per person; advance booking is essential.
